The Seaway Valley Theatre Company carries on with their 20th anniversary season by inviting you to their production of “Halfway There” by Norm Foster.

There’s no such thing as a secret in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia. Not when the gossips meet for coffee every day at the local diner. Vi, Rita, Mary Ellen, and Janine are all as close as can be and they know everybody’s business. But when Sean, a heartbroken doctor, moves in to take a temporary job at the clinic, he tips the Maritime town that’s famous for being halfway between the North Pole and the equator off its axis. This feel-good comedy from Canada’s most popular playwright will surround you in a familiar warm hug that shares the relief of finding your people.

The cast features a wide array of proudly local talent, with Jamie Carr as Sean, Mari Cheffer as Rita, Lynn Covert as Vi, Colleen McKoy as Mary Ellen, and Melanie Samis as Janine. Sitting in the director’s chair once again is SVTC stalwart, Lacie Petrynka, whom you’ll see onstage this February as Queen Constantina in the company’s winter musical, “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella –Enchanted Edition.” And producing the show is the company’s longtime president, Lise Richer.

Norm Foster’s “Halfway There” will be staged at the Seaway Valley Theatre, 30 Sixth Street East, Cornwall, for a run of nine performances on select dates and times from October 17 to November 2. Reserved seats are $30.00 and can be bought in advance online at svtc.theticketwicket.ca or by phone at 613-933-3998. Tickets will also be available at the door from one hour before curtain time, but the company strongly recommends that you buy them in advance and get them early to avoid disappointment. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Optionally, for an additional $18.00, you can partake in a special Appy Hour before the October 24 performance. A dinner theatre performance will also be given on November 1 with reserved seats at $55.00 each.
