The Town of Hawkesbury is letting its residents know that due to the Canada Post strike, it cannot send or receive invoices by mail for water, sewer and waste fees.
The town said those invoices will be available by email through the online billing system or in person at the town hall. Anyone not already registered for that can do so on the town’s website by Nov. 4 to make sure they get their latest bills in time.
The town is offering the chance at a $200 gift card prize for anyone who signs up before the deadline.
Meanwhile, payment options include depositing a cheque in the town’s secure mailbox, paying through your financial institution, paying online through the town’s payment platform, in person or by setting up pre-authorized payments.
While billing is set to take place on Oct. 15 with a payment deadline of Oct. 31, the town is extending the deadline to Nov. 28 without late fees.
However, the town warned late fees will take effect for unpaid invoices after that date.
