Grenville-sur-la-Rouge (GSLR) residents will head to the polls for the Québec municipal elections on Sunday, November 2. While the majority of seats are acclaimed, the mayor and council’s sixth seat are contested.

Mayor Tom Arnold, who has led GSLR since November 2017, is competing for re-election against Margaret Ethel Brunton.

Fifth seat incumbent Patrice Deslongchamps (elected 2021) is being contested by Karl Gibeault.

Sixth seat councillor Isabelle Brisson, first elected in November 2021, is not seeking re-election. That leaves candidates Kaitlin Lafrance and Guy Jobin vying for the seat.

The acclaimed seats are:

  • First seat: incumbent Manon Jutras, since November 2017
  • Second seat: incumbent Carl Woodbury, since November 2021
  • Third seat: incumbent Natalia Czarnecka, since November 2017
  • Fourth seat: incumbent Denis Fillion, since November 2017

Advance voting is Sunday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the municipal office at 88 Rue des Érables, Calumet. Election-day voting takes place at the same location between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
