Rockland keeps Growing Green.

On Sunday, March 2, the Rockland Community Garden hosted its second Growing Green fair on sustainable gardening. The event not only raises funds for the community garden, but it also helps local gardeners and property owners discover ways they can garden more sustainably. There were 48 exhibitors representing various businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and public agencies set up in the gymnasium at École secondaire catholique L’Escale. A series of seminars and workshops on environmental issues and sustainable gardening practices were also presented.

The Rockland Community Garden began its activities in 2023 and now has 50 garden beds at its site on Raymond Street. According to Building Director of the Community Garden Stephanie Marcil, there are 25 people on the waiting list for new plots.
