The holiday season is just around the corner, and the Champlain Library has a few festive programs planned to help families get into the Christmas spirit.
We will kick off the holiday season on Friday, November 27 with a Christmas Storytime and Craft at 6 pm, just before the Champlain Christmas Parade. Everyone is welcome to join us; no registration is required.
Our Junior Book Club will be holiday themed on December 10 at 4:15 pm. If you’re in the spirit, love books and between the ages of eight and 12, come share recommendations, and spend some time with fellow bookworms. Contact the library to register.
Children ages eight and up are invited to join us on Monday, December 14 at 4:15 pm for a hands-on Christmas craft workshop. Registration is required, and space is limited so give us a call.
We’ll wrap up our holiday programming with a Christmas Storytime on Tuesday, December 22 at 10 am for children ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers. We’ll share seasonal stories, enjoy some festive activities, and celebrate the excitement of Christmas together. No registration required.
We’d also like to remind everyone that our Book on Every Bed program has started! Through this program, local children receiving Christmas baskets from the Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal food banks receive a brand-new book to open on Christmas morning. We are also collecting new magazines and large-print activity books for residents of local retirement homes.
If you’d like to help, make the season a little brighter for a child or senior in our community, please stop by the library or call 613-678-2216 to be matched with a child. Every donation helps spread a bit of holiday joy and ensures that reading remains part of Christmas morning for local families.
