The shiny black Percheron horses of Wilson Farms near Vankleek Hill have had an amazing season of competition, including a world championship in Kansas.

“So, this year our hitch won our breed world championship supreme six horse hitch as well as the North American classic series world finals six horse hitch and event open to all breeds of draft horses,” said Kevin Wilson.

This season, the Wilson hitch competed across North America this season from Denver, Colorado to Springfield, Massachusetts.

“We won the supreme six horse hitch and world champion unicorn hitch at the most recent World Percheron Congress, and we won the North American classic series six horse hitch world finals six horse hitch,” Wilson said.

“The Percheron Congress is open to just one breed the world finals is open to all it would be comparable to winning the Stanley Cup and then the Olympics in the same year,” is how Wilson described the wins.

“This is the first time a Canadian owned hitch has won both titles in the same year,” he added.

Wilson horses are again competing in November between November 10 and 14 at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.
