Three individuals are facing charges after Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers recovered two stolen vehicles in South Glengarry Township.
On Friday, October 9, 2026, at about 10:30 a.m., an officer was conducting patrols on Highway 401 in South Glengarry Township. While the officer was conducting a traffic stop, an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) alert identified an eastbound pickup truck that was believed to be stolen. A short time later, the officer located the vehicle at a gas station on County Road 2 and confirmed it had been reported stolen earlier that day from the Barrie area.
While searching for the occupants of the stolen pickup truck, the officer identified a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the same location and confirmed it had also been reported stolen, from the Woodstock area.
As a result of the investigation, officers determined that the two occupants of the stolen pickup truck had left the area on foot. Additional officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) OPP Detachment attended to assist. The driver of the stolen SUV was arrested at the scene.
The two occupants of the stolen pickup truck attempted to evade police but were located and arrested a short distance away with assistance from SD&G OPP officers. As part of the investigation, officers also located a quantity of suspected opioid pills.
