Reconstruction of a bridge in Brownsburg will begin on Monday, October 19.
According to the Ministère des transports et de la mobilité durable du Québec, reconstruction of the Pont Henri-Raby bridge on rue Principale will continue until the end of 2027.
During the remainder of the fall and early into the winter, occasional complete bridge closures will be necessary to carry out preparatory work. Work will be suspended during the winter and will resume in spring 2027.
From the spring of 2027 until the following winter, the bridge will be completely closed to traffic at all times while the temporary bridge is dismantled, the old permanent bridge is demolished, and the new, permanent structure is rebuilt. During closures, a detour will follow rue Saint-Joseph and rue des Érables. A temporary pedestrian bridge will be installed to allow pedestrians to cross the river during the work.
The current temporary bridge was installed in December 2025 following a long period requiring a detour after the severely deteriorated permanent structure was closed. The old bridge had already been reduced to one lane for several years and a traffic light controlled alternating traffic
Work may be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. For updates, consult Québec 511.
