Running for recreation was the mission on Saturday, October 3 in Grenville.
The fourth annual Le Course du Canal run took place that day. About 300 people were registered to take part in the run, which began at Parc Desforges and followed routes through the village for 1 kilometre, 3 kilometre, 5 kilometre, and 10 kilometre runs. Members of the Roadrunner Athletics Club of Hawkesbury officially participated this year for the first time.
Le Course du Canal is presented and organized by Loisirs Grenville, the village’s recreation commission. All funds raised at the event are used for Loisirs Grenville programming, including its soccer league, theatre group, and annual carnival.
