Dear Editor,
This summer Canada was burning again. Entire towns were destroyed and thousands of people were evacuated. Yet our politicians continue to spend our taxpayer dollars on pipelines and oil and gas expansion!
The climate crisis is here now. This summer we saw it in the smoke-filled skies; we smelled it in the air we breathed and saw its destructive power across our country and around the world. Our children and grandchildren will inherit this mess that the use of fossil fuels is creating.
We owe them better!
Now is the time to invest in clean renewable energy, an east- west- north energy grid. The kind of nation-building project that truly serves Canadians. One that creates jobs, strengthens our economy and provides a healthy environment for us and our children to thrive and flourish.
