The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) recently arrested a youth in Glengarry due to an alleged threat to the population.
On Thursday, September 10, the RCMP announced that the Central Region Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) in Ottawa executed two search warrants in the region of Glengarry on August 21. The RCMP took necessary enforcement action following information they received of a potential threat to the population. This included the arrest of a youth who cannot be identified pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). At this time, there is no known threat to public safety.
As the matter is currently before the court and due to the age of the young person, the RCMP cannot provide any further comment.
