Heavy rain on Saturday, July 18 led organizers of La Baie Run to reschedule the event to Sunday, July 19.

More than 500 people participated in timed runs to raise funds for the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation and the Roadrunners Athletic Club.

1K, 5K, 10K, and 21K runs started and finished from L’Orignal Park and followed local roads. Various organizations and sponsors were on site to provide entertainment and nutrition for participants, and 50 Proof provided music after the run ended.

Eric Poulin of L’Orignal finished the 21.K run first with a time of one hour, 28 minutes, and 59.8 seconds. Randy Mayr of Alfred placed second, completing the run in one hour, 34 minutes, and 2.3 seconds. In third place, Katherine Yates of L’Orignal completed the 21.K run in one hour, 34 minutes, and 32.8 seconds.

In the 10K run, Zachary Martin of Gatineau finished first with a time of 32 minutes and 52.1 seconds. Second-place finisher was Maveryck Dodd of L’Orignal with a time of 41 minutes and 9.2 seconds. And Luc Lapensée of Plantagenet finished third in the 10 with a time of 41 minutes and 32.8 seconds.

The first runner to finish the 5K at La Baie Run was Logan MacKinnon of St-Isidore with a time of 17 minutes and 17.6 seconds. Shaun Filiatrault of Rigaud was second to finish with a time of 17 minutes and 27.8 seconds. Noémie Beauregard of Ottawa finished third. Her time was 19 minutes and 5.7 seconds.

Marik Sauvé of L’Orignal was the first to complete the 1K run with a time of three minutes and 58.4 seconds. The second-place finish was made by Antoine Martineau of Alfred whose time was three minutes and 59.3 seconds. Antoine Lalande of Alfred finished third in the 1K with a time of four minutes and 1.7 seconds.
