Thirty-five 4-H youth members were on the move, judging seven classes (sewing, cheese pizza, dairy heifers, horse-feed buckets, beef heifers, flowers and completing an ID quiz) on Monday, July 13 at Overdale Farms in L’Orignal. Prescott County 4-H welcomed members from Glengarry County and special guest, Cheryl Sullivan, Volunteer Support Coordinator, Region 2 (Eastern Ontario). The evening started with a barbecue, refreshments and desserts followed by members visiting each station to exercise observation, analytical thinking, impartiality and decision-making skills to place each entry first to fourth place. Junior and intermediate youth provided reasons for one class of their choice to Kenda Allen, communicating an orderly rationale for their placement.
The Prescott club would like to thank Gerry, Linda and Morgan Overvest for their generous hospitality to host the 4-H Judging night and to all volunteers who contributed to a very successful and fun evening.
