A traffic stop on Main Street in Hawkesbury led to criminal charges against two individuals on Tuesday, July 14.

Shortly after 1 pm, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a vehicle and during the investigation, seized more than 6,000 tablets of suspected methamphetamine (speed) and cash.

Following the investigation, Chantal Dupuis, age 49 from Hawkesbury and Jonathan Dupuis, age 28 from Hawkesbury were both charged with the following offences:

•           Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

•           Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 19 at the L’Orignal courthouse.
