A motorcyclist sustained minor injuries, and another drive could face impaired driving charges following a collision in Gore on Friday, July 3.
At around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sûreté du Québec officers were notified of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Route 329. Witnesses reported that the driver of the car may have thrown cans of alcohol into the woods and was also attempting to hide them in his vehicle. Upon arrival, after conducting standard checks, police arrested the driver, a 35-year-old man from Saint-Sauveur. He was taken to the Sûreté du Québec station and later released. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. He could face charges of impaired driving. The car was towed. His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days. It should be noted that his blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
