One of only two abattoirs in Prescott-Russell is for sale.
The Lefaivre Slaughterhouse is listed for sale with an asking price of $2.2 million. The 5,472 square foot facility is located on County Road 15 south of the village of Lefaivre.
The facility is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness and can process beef, pork, goat, deer, elk, and alpaca.
The only other abattoir in Prescott-Russell is a Halal facility in Clarence Creek which primarily serves Muslim customers and therefore does not process pork.
Outside of Prescott-Russell, the nearest regular abattoirs processing both beef and pork are in Crysler and Chesterville.
