For its Trash ‘n’ Treasure sale on Saturday, June 6, Vankleek Hill Baptist Church contributed all proceeds to Partners International to assist refugee families in Lebanon who have lost their homes due to the current conflict there.

Sale organizer and church member Leola Meagher said the sale raised more than $1,000.

“The fact is that over a million people have been displaced in that country since the beginning of this war,” she said.

Partners International works with local people to meet the most pressing needs in a cost-effective way. As an example, Meagher said $120 helps provide for a vulnerable family for a full month with nourishing food, medical aid, and a safe place to sleep.
