On Thursday, April 30, Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI) students brought sustainability to the runway during a Sustainable Fashion Show held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event, organized by teacher Isabel Campbell and her business class, showcased creative looks made from vintage, thrifted, and upcycled clothing.
The show featured a variety of student-designed outfits, demonstrating how fashion can be both stylish and environmentally conscious. From repurposed materials to carefully selected second-hand pieces, each look reflected the growing movement toward reducing waste in the fashion industry.
A special guest at the event was Upper Canada District School Board Trustee Corina Parisien, who also participated by modeling some of the featured outfits. Her involvement highlighted support for student-led initiatives and sustainable practices.
The event successfully combined creativity with an important message, encouraging attendees to consider more environmentally friendly choices when it comes to clothing.
