On Thursday, April 23, Champlain Township Council unanimously approved road closures for the annual May Show in Vankleek Hill, scheduled for May 17, 2026, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In a report presented to council, Communication and Community Development Officer Zoe Fortin-Larocque outlined a request from Excellent Events for the closure of Main Street East. The closure would span from Kirk Lane to Bertha Street, with additional impacts at Home Avenue, Union Street, and Derby Avenue.
The municipality has already committed support for the event through its 2026 grant program, including funding for road closures, waste collection, and first aid services.
The total municipal contribution tied to both the May Show and the Festival of Flavours in September is estimated at $6,589.
