On Monday, April 20, Brownsburg-Chatham announced a new winter event, rebranding its previously announced Marché Festif as PØLNOR, a Christmas-themed festival set to take place December 4 and 5 at the municipal campground on Route des Outaouais. The event has been reimagined to focus more broadly on the cultural and festive elements of the holiday season.
The redesigned concept centres on a Nordic-inspired Christmas theme intended to appeal to all age groups.
The name PØLNOR draws inspiration from the North Pole while also referencing Scandinavian traditions that have shaped modern Christmas folklore. The event coincides with the December 6 celebration of Saint Nicholas, also known as Sinterklaas, a figure rooted in European winter traditions.

“We’ve been working on this project since the beginning of the year and would like to thank council for allowing us the creative freedom to put together this event,” said Brownsburg-Chatham’s Director of Communications and Community Relations, Caroline Giroux.
The festival will feature live music across both days. Opening night on Friday, December 4, will include DJ performances by Mike Demero, DJ Montana, and DJ Offzy. On Saturday, December 5, programming will continue with a performance by Pete Fortier, followed by La Bottine Souriante, who are currently on their 50th-anniversary tour.
Vendors will once again be part of the event, with exhibitor registration expected to open in the coming weeks through the municipality’s website.

Brownsburg-Chatham Mayor Kévin Maurice said the evolution of the event reflects both growth and a desire to better serve the community.
“It is a great source of pride to see this event grow, but above all, to reinvent itself this year. PØLNOR embodies a wonderful evolution that will allow us to bring our community together in a festive spirit, while maintaining completely free access for all,” Maurice said.
