Police officers have made an arrest, confiscated a series of contraband items in Brownsburg-Chatham.
On Tuesday, April 21, Sûreté du Québec officers executed a search warrant at a residence on rue Gougeon.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene and later released. He will appear in court at a later date where he could face charges related to narcotics and illegal cannabis.
During the operation, police seized:
• More than 30 electronic cigarettes containing THC;
• More than 300 grams of processed cannabis;
• More than 130 electronic cigarettes;
• More than $1,800 in Canadian currency;
• A 2018 Honda Civic as proceeds of crime.
The operation stems from an investigation launched following information received from the public. The investigation revealed that cannabis was being sold in the form of wax pens, processed cannabis, and e-cigarettes near a high school, targeting a young clientele by making the product easily accessible to them.
The Sûreté du Québec reminds the public that any information relating to drug trafficking or production can be communicated at any time, confidentially, to the Sûreté du Québec’s Criminal Information Centre at 1 800 659-4264.
