Due to rising water levels and heavy rainfall along the Ottawa River and Rivière-du-Nord, Saint-André-d’Argenteuil municipal council declared a state of emergency on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 4 p.m.

As of Thursday evening, flooding was already occurring in the Baie de Carillon, Rue Fournier, Terrasse Robillard, and the Île-aux-Chats sectors.

The municipality recommends that residents of the affected areas remain vigilant and leave their homes if they deem it necessary, depending on how the situation develops and for their safety.

The municipality wishes to remind residents of the following:

• Citizens who feel the need can call 811 at any time for psychosocial support. Info-Social 811 is a free and confidential telephone consultation service. The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

• To receive the latest updates, residents are encouraged to regularly consult stada.ca and the municipality’s Facebook page or subscribe to the automated alert service (AAS).
