On June 20, runners, walkers, and community members will gather at Beau’s Brewery in Vankleek Hill for the 11th annual Beau’s 5K for Ovarian Cancer Canada, a local event that continues to make a national impact. Open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, the event welcomes everyone—from seasoned runners to casual walkers, and even furry companions to take part, rain or shine.

The run is held in memory of Vankleek Hill resident Ashley Courtois (Cowan), who succumbed to ovarian cancer at just 33 years old. Since its launch in 2015, the event has raised more than $410,000 to support ovarian cancer research, advocacy, and support services across Canada.

Organizers are strongly encouraging community members to sign up as soon as possible. Registration is quick and easy online, and participants can secure their spot by visiting the official Beau’s 5K registration page. Those interested can also RSVP through the event’s Facebook page to stay updated on race details, training tips, and announcements leading up to race day.

Participants can expect more than just a race. After completing the 5K, attendees are invited to return to the brewery for post-race refreshments and a chance to connect with others supporting the cause. Whether running, walking, or biking, each participant contributes to a shared goal of raising awareness and funding in the fight against ovarian cancer.

Spots are open now, and with strong community support expected again this year, organizers encourage everyone to register early, get involved, and be part of a meaningful cause because every step counts toward a future without ovarian cancer.
