On Friday, January 23, the Maxville Manor Foundation announced it officially reached its $11 million fundraising goal — a remarkable milestone made possible through the extraordinary generosity of community supporters, including those who participated in a region‐wide donor matching initiative.

Launched on November 1, 2025, the $500,000 matching opportunity was made possible by A.L. Blair Construction Ltd., Bourgon Construction, Kaneb Family Foundation, MacEwen Agricentre Inc., MacEwen Petroleum Inc. and Wever Financial. This powerful gesture inspired donors across the region to double the impact of their contributions, raising more than $598,000 from the community.

When matched, these gifts propelled the TOGETHER fundraising campaign to its $11 million fundraising goal in support of Maxville Manor’s redevelopment project currently underway.

This achievement marks a transformational moment for Maxville Manor, ensuring the continuation and enhancement of its compassionate care, innovative programs, and essential services for older adults across the region. Funds raised will support ongoing redevelopment efforts to upgrade, expand, and welcome more residents (160, up from 122) into a modernized home that will serve family, friends, neighbours, and loved ones for generations.

Campaign Co‐Chairs Jim MacEwen and Jamie MacDonald expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support. “Reaching this $11 million goal is a powerful reflection of how deeply the community believes in Maxville Manor and the people it serves. The matching opportunity brought donors together in an extraordinary way, and we are humbled by the generosity we witnessed every step of the way”, said MacEwen.

MacDonald added, “This success belongs to everyone who contributed — large gifts, small gifts, and everything in between. Together, we have helped secure a stronger future for seniors across our region, made possible not only by donors, but also by the community who has gone above and beyond, and the volunteers who have invested countless hours of time and service to ensure this campaign’s success.”

The Maxville Manor Foundation and their extended Maxville Manor Family express heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a role in achieving this historic milestone. “Plain and simple, it was a true community effort,” said Kerri Albright, who added that the community would be invited to a celebration event that is being planned in the coming weeks. Additional details will be shared soon.
