The Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation has received a $50,828.50 securities donation from Kim and Denis Sabourin to support the Foundation’s CT Scanner Campaign.
Their gift brings Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) closer to acquiring a state-of-the-art CT scanner, improving diagnostic services and keeping care close to home.
Reflecting on their family’s long connection to the hospital, the Sabourins said:
“This donation is in recognition of the care that HGMH has provided to our families and our community for generations. We are honoured to support the acquisition of a new CT scanner through this donation. Following the example set by our father, Hubert Sabourin, we are proud to contribute to keeping the hospital equipped with modern, life-saving technology, ensuring it remains accessible and available to serve the community for years to come.”
A new CT scanner will improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce patient transfers, and support faster treatment decisions for patients across Glengarry and neighbouring communities.
“This extraordinary gift from Kim and Denis is a powerful example of stewardship rooted in community,” said Mark Adam, Chair of the HGMH Foundation Board. “Through our Be a Healer movement, community members are funding priority medical equipment, like a new CT scanner, that is not covered by government funding. Donors become healers by enabling faster, more accurate diagnosis and treatment for families and neighbours across Glengarry.”
