Teams from Vankleek Hill and Russell will be among those competing at the upcoming Finch Youth Broomball Tournament, taking place at the Finch Community Arena on January 9, 10 and 11.
This year’s tournament features 24 teams over four age groups (3 x u7, 5 x u9, 8 x u12, 8 x u16). The leagues competing in the tournament are Finch Youth Broomball, Russell Minor Broomball, Vankleek Hill, and Ottawa Valley West (Carleton Place and Lanark), with a total of 370 players.
On Saturday January 10 the Eastern Thunder, a local juvenile girls’ team will be serving breakfast and a bake sale from 8:00am – noon. In the evening the Eastern Warriors, a local boy’s juvenile team will be hosting a spaghetti supper from 4 pm to 7 pm. Both teams are fundraising and joining together to host the 2026 U20 Canadian Broomball Nationals. The Nationals tournament is being held in Ottawa from March 24 to March 28, 2026, at Carleton University.
Also happening at noon on Saturday will be an exhibition game between the Hillbillies and Lafleur, two local co-ed adult teams who have competed at the National level.
The Finch Community Arena is located at 4 John Street in Finch.
