Firefighters help everyone, including deer. On Tuesday, December 9, Hawkesbury firefighters used a raft and other tools to cross the partially frozen Ottawa River for a wildlife rescue. Two white-tailed deer had become stuck in the weak ice off Hamilton Island. The firefighters were able to get the deer out so they could return to dry land.
