Rehearsals are well underway for the first show to be produced by new local community theatre group, High and Main Productions. The show, titled Beneath the Surface features two one-act plays, Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story and Alice Gerstenberg’s Overtones. They open on Friday November 28 at 7 pm at the Creating Centre Créativité in Vankleek Hill.
“I love the musicality of the speech and action,” says Lorraine Crowston of the play she is directing, The Zoo Story. “I enjoy working with Konstantine Malakos and Josh Clendenin,” who play Jerry and Peter respectively in the popular two-hander. Overtones, which Malakos is directing, features four local women, the aforementioned Crowston, Susan Brown, Judy Filipchuk and Joan Gottman. It makes up the second half of the program.
