Reconstruction of County Road 22 near Maxville will be finished any day now, according to the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SD & G).
A report from the Transportation Services Department presented to SD & G counties council on October 20 indicates significant progress was made throughout the late summer and into the fall. The remaining work is to be completed by the end of October.
The report indicates there were minor delays due to weather and unexpected challenges due to soil conditions, leading to cost overrun on the contract value by about $690,000. Despite this, the project is still expected to remain under budget.
A more detailed financial analysis of the County Road 22 reconstruction project near Maxville will be presented to SD & G Council in November once key project milestones are reached and all additional financial implications are known.
