Rev up your engines and rally your crew for a day of adventure, laughter, and heartfelt community spirit — all in support of Maxville Manor.
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Riceville and Vankleek Hill Agricultural Societies and Ag Communities invite you to take part in the Community Car Rally for a Cause. Whether you’re cruising the countryside in your convertible or pickup truck, or cheering at the finish line, this event is about coming together to support a vital service that touches every family at some point in life. It’s about ensuring that when you or your loved ones need long-term care, Maxville Manor will be there — providing compassionate service in a home close to home, where family and support networks can easily visit. Teams of four will kick off the day with a hearty breakfast served by the Riceville Agricultural Society, before hitting the road for a scenic rally packed with interactive pit stops.
The day wraps up with a festive finish line celebration featuring a wine and cheese, pig roast, and live music by local favourites, Neil Emberg and Ashley MacLeod-McRae. Once registered, teams will receive their full itinerary for the day.
“This isn’t just a car rally,” said Ken Wilkes, speaking on behalf of the organizing team. “It’s a rally for our seniors — and for the future of long-term care in our area. Many people don’t realize that Maxville Manor serves seniors from Vankleek Hill, Riceville, Hawkesbury, L’Orignal, and many surrounding communities. In fact, my good friend Scott Allan had several family members at the Manor and can’t say enough good things about the care. They need our help, and this is our chance to show our support.”
Maxville Manor is undergoing a transformative $68 million redevelopment to expand and meet the growing demand for long-term care. With $10 million already raised, the Manor is counting on community support to close the final $1 million gap and reach its $11 million fundraising goal.
“Unlike many other charities, fundraising for long-term care can be tough,” said Kerri Albright, Fundraising Campaign Manager.
“It’s not that it doesn’t matter – it’s that often people don’t think about it until they or someone they love need care. When that moment comes, they’ll see Maxville Manor is a front-runner in care for our entire area — not just Maxville.”
Maxville Manor has received incredible support from many people, with much coming from the Maxville community. Now, they are reaching out to the broader region they serve for help. Every contribution will make a difference and directly support the redevelopment.
