It has been 45 years since Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope and it now has a significant place in Canadian history. Terry Fox Run/Walk events for cancer research continue to be held each year in communities across the country, including in our region.
The 2025 Course Alexandria Terry Fox Run/Walk takes place on Sunday, September 14.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Island Park gazebo close to the parking lot. The walk/run will begin soon after. Late arrivals are welcome. Participants can also register in advance at https://run.terryfox.ca/alexandria.
The route of the run/walk in Alexandria is south along Lochiel Street, and then along the Glengarry Trails. Kilometre markers will be posted. Participants may choose their preferred walking/running distance. The Friends of the Glengarry Trails Association is supervising the route and will provide water along the way. A detailed map of the trails is available at: https://glengarrytrails.com/ .
Participants preferring a level surface are invited to join Bob Hardy and the Wobbly Walkers on the paved sidewalks within Island Park.
To volunteer or for information contact Anne Thevenot on FB, at 613-525-3790 or [email protected]
A celebratory picnic will take place at Island Park at 12 pm. Please bring your own food and drink.
