It was not a bird; it was a plane!

During the afternoon of Thursday, July 24, Carol Tisdall heard and saw something over her home near Vankleek Hill that is normally not noticed in local skies, and notified The Review.

According to the Department of National Defence (DND), the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) 429 Transport Squadron from Canadian Forces Base Trenton was conducting training flying with a CC-177 Globemaster transport aircraft in the area.

DND explained that flying training is part of the daily routine at all RCAF flying units, as air crews need to maintain their proficiencies and continually practice their many procedures to ensure they maintain a high level of readiness to conduct real-world missions.
