The 43rd annual HGH Foundation Golf Classic made history this year, not only by expanding to a two-day format for the first time ever, but also by raising a record-breaking $96,229.77 in support of the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH).

Held on July 9 and 10 at the Hawkesbury Golf & Curling Club, the tournament welcomed 70 foursomes over two sun-filled days – despite forecasts of rain. Golfers enjoyed warm weather, delicious on-course snacks and refreshments, and a variety of fun activities, including three daily cash prize draws and other exciting giveaways.

The event wrapped up with a cocktail reception on Wednesday and the traditional banquet dinner on Thursday, bringing the community together in celebration of a shared cause.

“We are thrilled with the fantastic results of this year’s Golf Classic,” said Erin Tabakman, Executive Director of the HGH Foundation. “Thanks to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, donors, and participants – both returning and new – we’ve achieved a record profit for our hospital. You’ve made a real difference for HGH patients, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!”

Proceeds from the tournament will directly support the expansion of high-demand healthcare services at HGH. Funds will help the Foundation purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment, enabling the hospital to meet the needs of a growing population and deliver specialized care closer to home – reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for treatment.

The HGH Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to the event’s major sponsors: ALX Legal, Hawkesbury Ford, Malaket Furniture, Emond Harnden Labour and Employment Law, Friends of HGH, and GO FM 92.1. And a special thank you to all other sponsors, donors, golfers, and the amazing volunteers who made this event possible. Your support is helping transform healthcare in our region.
