Behind the Wall/Derrière les murs, a new bilingual history book of the L’Orignal Old Jail and Courthouse is now available. The book was published as part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of the L’Orignal Courthouse and Jail, which are the oldest court and jail facilities in Ontario.
This book takes readers deep into the rich and fascinating history of these emblematic institutions, shedding light on authentic stories from individuals who lived, worked, or left a lasting impression within their walls. The result of an outstanding collaborative effort, the project was coordinated by Louise Bédard, President of the L’Orignal Old Jail, along with a dedicated team of volunteer authors.
Behind the Wall/Derrière le murs is now available to the public and can be purchased on site at the jail, located at 1023 Queen Street, L’Orignal.
Do not miss this opportunity to explore a landmark chapter in the region’s history and immerse yourself in the memories that helped shape the identity of L’Orignal.
