The residents of a senior citizen’s apartment complex in Vankleek Hill are more prepared now if minor injuries affect them or visitors.
On July 16, Vankleek Hill Pharmacy owner, Pharmacist George Gabra presented the Club 73 Social Club at the Vankleek Senior Citizens Manor with a fully stocked first aid kit.
The first aid kit will be stored in the kitchen in the recreation hall at the apartment complex, located on Derby Avenue. Whenever a resident or visitor requires a bandage, or other minor first aid attention, they may use the first aid kit. Resident Roberta Bower will keep a regular inventory of the supplies and ensure they are replenished as needed.
Bower, and resident Robert Lormand, said the social committee at the complex is trying to organize more activities, including events where residents can learn about issues of particular importance to senior citizens.
The 30-unit Vankleek Senior Citizens Manor opened in November 2023.
