This year marks the seventh annual edition of La Baie Run! Over the past few years, the event has raised more than $150,000 for the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation.

La Baie Run is a fun running or walking event for the whole community. The organizing committee is made up of members of the local community, including Patrick Lalonde from Lalonde Physio, Sébastien Lalonde, Marie-Eve Yelle from Desjardins Securities, Mélodie Chartrand, and Julien Santini. They have formed a team of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about supporting their hospital.

This event would not be possible without loyal sponsors. This year’s edition is presented by Gold Sponsors: Desjardins, Harden, and the Township of Champlain. In addition, around twenty other local sponsors have joined in.

And let’s not forget the loyal participants who return year after year. Over 450 participants are already registered, and registration is still open until the day of the event.

This year, the event takes place at L’Orignal Municipal Park on Saturday, July 19. Runners and walkers can choose to complete a 1 kilometre, 5-kilometre, 10 kilometre, or half-marathon course. The event will be followed by an awards ceremony, live music, food, and beverages at the municipal park.

As part of La Baie Run, you can form a team with your friends, family, or colleagues and raise funds for the HGH Foundation. There is a prize for the team that raises the most donations for the cause.

The funds raised from this event will be donated primarily to the HGH Foundation. A portion will also go to the Les Roadrunners Athletics Club to help introduce local youth to sports.

The funds given to the HGH Foundation will help provide medical equipment for various departments.
