A severe thunderstorm with high winds followed the St. Lawrence River across South Glengarry on Thursday, June 19, causing damage that possibly hampered weekend and vacation plans for some people.
Glengarry Campground, a provincial park operated by the St. Lawrence Parks Commission, was temporarily closed on Friday, June 20 due to wind damage to the electrical system and trees in the park. Campers who had made reservations for the day received refunds and were directed to nearby parks on a first-come, first-served basis.
Glengarry Park is located on the St. Lawrence River between South Lancaster and Curry Hill.
