The class of 1985 at Laurentian Regional High School (LRHS) in Lachute had a 40-year reunion on Saturday, May 17 with 68 alumni and nine staff members from that time attending.
The staff members who attended included former Principal Leroy Beals, Guidance Counsellor Greg Moreash, Physical Education Teacher Anne Summers, Physical Education Teacher and Football Coach Dave Donaldson. Shop Teacher Bob Duncan, Morals and Religion Teacher Reenie Marx, English Teacher Mrs. Cleary, L.E.S Teacher Mrs. Rogers, and Religion Teacher Father Terry Paquette. People came from as far away as Vancouver, California, Québec City and all around the Laurentians to enjoy walking around the school, followed by dinner at Le Caucus.
The Reunion was organized by alumni Jim Beauchamp and Leilani Crooks with help from other alumni.
“A great day was had by all from start to finish. Most of us had not seen each other for 40 years, but it felt like just yesterday that we were hanging out in the halls of LRHS,” Beauchamp said.
Retired teacher Reenie Marx said the organizers “did a truly fantastic job.”
