On Saturday, May 24, Arbor Gallery will host an event that invites participants to create art using sunshine. In the Cyanotype Workshop, led by La Table Créative, students will discover an ancient photographic process that uses sunlight to create strikingly beautiful prints in blue tones, known as “Prussian blues”.
Each participant will learn all the stages of taking a “sun photograph” and produce six unique, postcard-sized prints on textured paper.
For La Table Créative, the Grenville-based couple leading the workshop, making cyanotypes is “a timeless photographic process that allows us to explore the art of image-making through the delicate interplay of sunlight and exposure.” To view examples of their work, visit their Instagram account @tablecreative.88.
The workshop runs from 11am to 1pm and the cost is $50, plus a $10 materials fee. Students can also purchase extra supplies from the instructor to make more cyanotypes at home. To register for this workshop or for more information, contact [email protected], or call (613) 678-6171.
Arbor Gallery is located at 103 High St. in Vankleek Hill.
