The condition of the pavement on Route 344/rue maple in Grenville is very bad and the village of Grenville wants citizens to help pressure the Québec government to do something about it.
The section of road is not a municipal street, but is instead a provincial highway under the jurisdiction of the Ministère transports et mobilité durable.
According to a press release issued by the village, many people have reported incidents and flat tires due to the advanced deterioration of the roadway. Route 344/rue maple is a busy road as it passes through Grenville’s largest shopping area and is the major connector between the Long Sault Bridge and Autoroute 50.
In order to expedite the process of getting the provincial authorities to take action, the municipality is appealing to the public on its website and social media, asking all concerned citizens to submit their complaints and vehicle damage claims directly to the transport ministry.
The website to submit complaints and claims is https://www.transports.gouv.qc.ca/fr/nous-joindre/Pages/nous-joindre.aspx.
Complaints can also be submitted by calling 511, or submitting them by mail to the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable,700, boulevard René-Lévesque Est, bureau A.02, Québec (Québec) G1R 5H1.
The municipality appreciates the cooperation of citizens with the effort to have repairs made to Route 344/rue maple.
