Levac furniture in Vankleek Hill has sold high quality furniture and appliances to area residents for 80 years, but that will soon end. The Levac furniture building located on Highway 34 beside the Foodland store has been sold, and a closing sale for the business is currently underway.
Henri Levac’s original store was at the corner of High and Main streets, and eventually grew to include most of the block now home to Novi Cosmetics, the MC Team real estate, and Champlain Insurance. The store has been at its current location on Highway 34 for nearly 40 years.
In 2024, Larocque retired and Daniel Levac added two shareholders to his team: Angie Jubinville and Jean-Sébastien Martineau, both of whom were already employees at the store.
Following Martineau’s departure after a few years, Daniel decided to offer the keys to Jubinville when he retired in 2017. She accepted the challenge of ensuring the business ran smoothly. She wore many hats, including buyer, seller, personnel manager, accounting, and much more. Daniel said she succeeded brilliantly while having her staff around for support.
Daniel, Angie, and the Levac family wish to extend sincere appreciation to customers and the community for their support over many years as the closing sale continues.
“We thank everyone who has encouraged us over the past 80 years: the many suppliers we have worked with, and especially the employees who have been part of our team. To our customers with a pending order or requiring after-sales service: rest assured that we will honour all outstanding commitments. We remain available to ensure delivery of your purchases and for follow-up on service requests (parts, etc.).”
