On Saturday, April 12, the Vankleek Hill Community Centre hosted local artisans who offered a range of creations just in time for Easter, Mother’s Day, or other springtime gift ideas.

The market, organized by Donna Stuart, raised a total of $600 for the Arbor Gallery.

Participating merchants included Rita Quesnel, with handmade knitting and sewing for newborns; Creative Quirks; Vik Witch Designs; young entrepreneur Lily of Lily’s Charm; and Dobie Candles.

Lawrence Kelly of Dobie Candles explained that their environmentally conscious products are made in Dalkeith using locally sourced materials, organic soy, and recycled glass. The small business focuses on reimagining used materials into creative products, aiming to reduce the local carbon footprint.
