Family, friends, and members of the hockey community from across the region gathered at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre on Saturday, March 22 to honour Maddy Duval.
On March 13, Duval, who was from Vankleek Hill, died as the result of a vehicle collision near Cornwall. She was 16.
A passionate hockey player since age five, Duval was a goalie for the Clarence-Rockland U-18 Lightning and previously played for nine seasons with the Glengarry Highlanders.
A celebration of life for Maddy was held at the community centre and followed by a memorial skate in her honour.
