On Monday, March 17, Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SDG) Counties council was informed that the 2025 iteration of the Cornwall & SDG Counties Visitor Guide had been completed. SDG Tourism, in partnership with Cornwall Tourism, produced and released this edition with Big Catch Communications and Marriner Design.
Annually, the partnership publishes a comprehensive marketing and storytelling tool to promote local tourism by highlighting the attractions, accommodations, dining establishments, outdoor recreation, and cultural experiences available in the region.
This year, 60,000 guides were printed: 17,500 each for SDG Tourism and Cornwall Tourism, with the remaining 25,000 distributed along travel corridors in Ontario and New York state.
The accumulated costs for the design, printing, and distribution of the 2025 Visitor Guide totalled $135,000 and will be split between SDG Counties and Cornwall. Staff said that advertising revenue for the publication was more than $31,000 for this edition, an increase of $8,000 from last year.
By partnering, SDG Counties saved $13,000 in costs, reducing its share of costs from $78,000 to $65,000. The savings also allowed for an increase in printed copies from 40,000 to 60,000.
Councillor Carma Williams said, “I’m all in favour of partnerships and I am glad to see we’ve come back to this partnership in tourism and on this particular package.”
