Hawkesbury town council members were paid a total of $207,209.74 in 2024, according to the yearly remuneration report received by council on Monday, March 10.

The largest salary was paid to Mayor Robert Lefebvre, who received a base amount of $51,165.75, plus the $480 telephone allowance paid to each council member. Additionally, Lefebvre received $2,386 for his service as Chair of the Police Services Board. Lefebvre’s total 2024 municipal remuneration was $54,031.75.

All six councillors in Hawkesbury were paid a base salary of $23,708.91 in 2024, in addition to the telephone expense allowance for a total of $24,188.91. Councillor Yves Paquette was also paid $1,710.85 for convention expenses, and $2,000 as a member of the Hawkesbury Hydro Commission. As a result, Paquette’s total remuneration in 2024 was $27,899.76.

In addition to the base salary and phone allowance, Councillor Jeanne Charlebois was also paid $333.68 for convention expenses in 2024, resulting in a total remuneration of $24,522.59.

Councillor Julie Séguin was paid an additional $2,000 in 2024 for serving on the Hawkesbury Library Board. As a result, her total municipal compensation for 2024 was $26,188.91.

In 2024, Councillor André Chamaillard received $2,000 for serving as a member of the Hawkesbury Hydro Commission, bringing his total remuneration from the town for the year to $26,188.91.
