In recognition of outstanding service to Canada’s youth, Genevieve Allinson-Dwyer will receive the King Charles III Coronation Medal. The Army Cadet League of Canada proudly celebrates her dedication and leadership. The medal will be presented on March 26 by Captain (Ret’d) Nigel Suarez, Second Vice-President of the Army Cadet League of Canada, in recognition of Ms. Allinson-Dwyer’s exceptional dedication and service to the Canadian Cadet Movement.
Ms. Allinson-Dwyer has played a vital role in supporting the Army Cadet League of Canada for many years. She serves as the contact person and president of the support committee for the 2804 Casselman Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps in Eastern Ontario. Under her leadership, the 2804 Casselman Support Committee was recognized as the top small support committee in Ontario for 2024, a testament to her contributions in revitalizing the corps after the pandemic through improved recruiting and strong community support. She is being recognized for her significant contributions to Canada through her exemplary service to the Army Cadet League of Canada in support of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets. Before assuming her current role as Chairperson of 2804 RCACC Support Committee, she served as the Chairperson of the 2317 – 30th Field Artillery Regiment Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps Support Committee.
Her longstanding commitment to supporting Army Cadet Corps has been recognized previously with The Army Cadet League of Canada’s Volunteer Service Medal, awarded to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service in the advancement of the Army Cadet program.
Beyond cadets, she is active in community development in Casselman, Ontario, serving on the board of the Casselman Downtown Revitalization Corporation. In this role, she collaborates with local business owners, residents, and officials to strengthen the local economy and enhance civic life, including organizing the annual Casselman Christmas Festival.
The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is responsible for administering the King Charles III Coronation Medal program; it is a commemorative honour recognizing individuals who have made a significant contribution to Canada, a province, territory, region, or community. This distinction acknowledges those who have gone above and beyond in their respective fields, fostering positive change and demonstrating a steadfast commitment to service.
