Three regulations involving street improvements were introduced and deposited by Lachute council when it met on February 3.

The most significant of the regulations introduced would allow up to $2,500,000 to be spent on improvements to Rue Principale in the downtown area. This includes paving, new curbs, and trees.

A second regulation would allow up to $630,000 to be spent on culvert work on chemin des Sources. Bigras-Denis said the expenditure was included in the 2025 municipal budget.

And a third regulation was introduced and deposited which would allow up to $3,200,000 to be spent on improvements to rue Edwin and rue St-Jacques.

The three regulations still require adoption on second and third reading before they are adopted.
