On December 9, as part of the municipal budget, council unanimously approved funds for numerous local organizations. Council allocated $20,743.86 in community grants for 2025.

Community grants with a budgeted value of $25,000 have been established by council to support special projects and events organized by local groups or individuals in 2025. Out of the 11 applications received from community organizations, nine were approved by the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee (ACHC) on December 2.

Among the recipients, the Kenyon Agricultural Society will receive $3,500, the Maxville & District Lions Club will receive $2,058.86, and the Maxville & District Horticultural Society will receive $3,269.

Caddell Productions has been allocated $3,500 for the Glengarry’s Got Talent competition, $2,162 for the Sunshiners Social Club, and $3,500 for Alexandria’s Lions Club, among other recipients.

The applications declined by the ACHC included Diversity Cornwall’s request for $3,000 and $ 1,455 for La Fraternité Alexandria.
