The Ontario government has announced more than $16 million in funding for 245 projects across the province through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Seed Grant program, and one organization based in Prescott and Russell counties is receiving a grant. Non-profit organizations, charities, small municipalities and Indigenous communities place applications with the OTF for Seed Grants, which are designed to pilot, test or launch new initiatives that will directly benefit communities. Two organizations in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SDG) are receiving OTF Seed Grants.
Regroupement Autisme Prescott-Russell (RAPR) is receiving $45,500 from the OTF for board training, governance improvements, and employee training. RAPR provides children and youth in Prescott and Russell counties with social, recreational, educational, and skills development programming in both French and English.
In SDG, the Tri-County Literacy Council, which provides literacy programs and services to residents across SDG, is receiving a $63,900 OTF Seed Grant. The Cornwall-based St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Science, better known as The River Institute, which researches the St. Lawrence River ecosystem, is receiving $49,900 in OTF Seed Grant funding.
