The Dalkeith… Plus! Library hosted its eighth anniversary with more than 40 attendees making it out for the potluck occasion on November 16.

The library in Dalkeith is thriving as the volunteer-run project continues to provide the community with access to a large variety of books, films, electronic access points, and borrowing services through local memberships. Located at 1835 Country Road 23, the library recently had some refurbishment initiatives to broaden appeal and improve functionality.

To celebrate the occasion alongside the anniversary event, a potluck was held where people from the community were welcomed to bring food items, socialize with other members, and peruse the updates made to the building.

There was also talk of future innovative projects including a potential community garden coming to the site in the upcoming years, pending a final decision by the organization.

The Dalkeith… Plus! Library is separate from the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry association of library services, therefore a separate membership is required to utilize the services offered at this location. Annual memberships begin at $5 for children between the ages of three and 17, adult memberships (18+) for $25, and family memberships (two adults, two children) for $50.
